This year marked the 5th annual A Day in Her Shoes fundraiser for the Canadian Mental Health Association. It was my first time attending and now that I've seen it, I will definitely be going back. This was their biggest year yet with women (and a few brave men) from all over the Saint John area flocking in for this good cause... and some beautiful shoes.

The evening started with wine and treats courtesy of the Hardman Group, Piece O'Cake, Lemongrass, Grannan's and Saint John Ale House. Florals by Sandra Miller transformed the place.
The fashion show featured clothing from Samuel & Co and Envy with shoes by Manchester Shoe Salon. Every look was beautiful. Emcee and models did an excellent job.

The evening concluded with keynote speaker, Elizabeth Manley sharing her story of teenage depression. Manley spoke about how she managed to seek help and surround herself with a team of supportive people going on to win the silver medal for Women's Figure Skating at the Calgary Olympics. She also shared how, as Canada's Sweetheart, people wanted to sweep her mental illness under the carpet. Manley has worked for the past 20 years to fight the stigma surrounding mental illness.
