It is Friday! Hurray!
This week was quite busy but it's nothing compared to the coming weekend and next week. So many things going on in our area! Hopefully it means lots of outfits to photograph and things to report for the blog. I'm slightly concerned I'll be so busy that I will forget to take photographs (Hey, this week I got my wedding date wrong. Anything can happen).
Tomorrow (May 5) is Rowena's It's All About You event at Adair's Wilderness Lodge. I'm looking forward to participating in the fashion show. I'm also looking forward to see a girly event with mani/pedis and shopping set in a hunting lodge with animal heads on the wall. I think the disjunction should be hilarious. The fashion show is at 7pm and is free so you can always head up to Sussex on a whim.
Sunday (May 6) is It's a Girl Thing in Uptown Saint John at the SJ Arts Centre from 1-4. Tickets are $6 and I hope to see lots of local ladies there (once I've driven back from the Wilderness in the morning!).
Wednesday (May 9) is A Day in Her Shoes at Market Square. This ladies' fundraiser for Canadian Mental Health is going to have two things that appeal to my Canadian girl heart- shoes and figure skating. The guest speaker is going to be Elizabeth Manley, an Olympic Figure Skater from my childhood. I'll be attending with some of the ladies from Canadian Progress Club Ignite.
From Figure Skating to Curling, Friday night (May 11) I'm taking my Mum to Ladies' Night Out as a little early Mother's Day treat. The Kennebecasis Lions' Club is having it's annual ladies event which I hear is a fabulous time with fabulous food. Mum and I both decided on the steak and twice baked potatoes (love the steak or lobster options! ladies like to eat!). The Women's World Champion curling team skipped by Heidi Hanlon is from our area and they'll be attending the event. It's a fundraiser for Sophia Recovery Centre (specifically for women) and PASAGE who do addiction education for young people. For tickets call 847-1645
Then Saturday (May 12) is Charity Chic which is an entire week away so I'm not worry about it yet. Last year Charity Chic was a great time and I expect this year will be as well. The funds raised will go to the Animal Rescue League and donated clothes that aren't snatched up by attendees will go to Romero House and the Diabetes Association.
So much going on!!
