Anyway, the first year I lived in the UK, my roommate and I took a bus into Norwich for the fireworks which was incredible. After that it was a yearly thing-including the year there was a torrential downpour. When we moved to Canada we suggested to my Mum, who grew up with bonfire night as a child in the UK, that we start a new tradition here. My Mum's got some slight pyromaniac tendencies (which I feel are from years of repressed bonfire nights) so any excuse to set off fireworks tends to go over well. This will be our third annual bonfire night and there will be food, cider, fireworks, sparklers and throwing things into a fire. How can that every be a bad combination?
