Fluffy Foster Adoption Fair!

This Saturday the Saint John Animal Rescue League and Pet Corral are teaming up to hold another Kitty Adoption Fair.  At the last fair both our foster girls, Portia and Holly, found wonderful homes.  We're hoping this time around will be just as successful.

There are a large number of cats in foster homes right now.  It's so much better for a cat to be fostered both for their health and socialization.  Husband and I are not hard core dedicated Foster parents.  There are some folks in the area who really are heroes so we're hoping this fair opens up more space for them to keep on saving lives and loving kitties.

The exciting bit is that both the Quispamsis Pet Corral on Pettingale Rd and the Pet Corral on the Saint John Westside will have foster cats from 10am-4pm who are available to go home with you that day.  The adult cats will all be spayed/neutered and adoptable by donation.  The kittens will all be $62.50 or 2 for $125 which includes vet's visit, identification chip and spay/neuter when they're old enough. There really will be every age, colour and personality available.

From the facebook event "All of the cats will be coming directly from a loving foster home where they have been socialized, played with, cuddled, etc……their personalities will be known and we will have information on hand about each and every cat and how they interact in a home environment."

You don't have to be interested in adopting a cat to come out and show your support.  I know it was a big day last time and having people stop in to see us, cuddle the cats, bring donations of wet food and money were all super encouraging.

Husband and I will be out helping with the Adoption Fair for a few hours on Saturday but unfortunately you won't be able to meet our little foster there.  You see Sadie and Trilly basically informed us that they would be miserable if we took him away from them.  The girls are both totally loving having him in the house.  Trilly and Sadie are hanging out and interacting more with each other.  Trilly has a play mate and Sadie has a kitty who will rub her tummy for her.  Husband and I looked at each other Tuesday night and basically said, "There's room for another kitty bunkbed shelf when he gets a bit bigger".  Until he's bigger he'll spend the time when we're out of the house in his current room but then he'll move in with the girls.  We'll have to figure out food bowls eventually!!
