Remembering Spring
Last week I tried to make up for my lack of outfit photography with a retrospective of Winter 2012's outfit photos. Well, this week I'm ready for Spring to arrive. How about the rest of you? So here's a look back at last Spring.

Retro Winter
So it is Wednesday which is usually outfit post day. I like having that regular blog theme to depend on. The thing is, I spent all weekend at home. I was still trying to kick the never ending killer cold and Husband was coming down with it so we didn't feel inclined to go very far. Then there was the snow storm that solidified our decision. No outfit photos were taken. No photos of humans were taking. I'm sure the pets did something funny and I'm sure i tried to take photos of the snow storm and failed (gusting winds are hard to capture).
I never did an end of 2012 outfit photo recap since we were busy with Christmas and then traveling and also, I had a lousy head cold then too (this is our second round with it... unimpressed). So here are a few bits and pieces from outfit posts from this time last year.

Sequence
I know many a blogger out there struggles with husbands who roll their eyes at the thought of taking outfit posts or photographing food or just generally documenting every aspect of your lives. The thing is that I was a nut for photographing everything long before I started blogging. Husband knows this and seems to like that blogging gives me an outlet for it. This weekend while opening my card and gift from my parents Husband insisted on photographing the entire sequence of events, capturing a rather odd series of facial expressions.
My gorgeous new Christopher Kan wallet/clutch from Manchester Shoe Salon here in Saint John to match the purse I've shown off on the blog a few times now.

Rainbow Bright
The last time I was getting my nails done the esthetician said, "You should have taken photos of all of your nail colours so we can keep track of how they turned out." What kind of blogger did she take me for? Well, I have a suspicious that I'm missing one and I am now thinking I should have taken them exactly the same every time to turn into some sort of collage but here you are, a Friday retrospective of my nails the past few months. I'm going to admit upfront that these are not in order but I couldn't be bothered to flight with blogger!
These are all shellac colours done for me at Intuitions Spa . I usually get about 2 1/2 weeks of my nails looking freshly done. That is longer than some people but most people get about 2 weeks of their nails looking like new.

Belting
It is almost Wednesday (or actually Wednesday or who knows really by the time you read this) and it is time for an outfit post. We got quite a bit of snow over the weekend so I spent most of the weekend bundled up, staying dry, etc. These were actually taken before that on a day that really got quite warm. You'll notice I was still holding onto Mum's pearls at that point and enjoying my Michael Kors bag from Bling Borrowers for a little while longer. Plus, I decided to show off my new coat which I got for 50% off with a Christmas gift card. Love using gift cards combined with sales!!

Mama's Pearls
She used to tie her hair up in ribbons and bows
Sign her letters with X's and O's
Got a picture of her mama in heels and pearls
She's tryin' to make it in her daddy's world.

I borrowed Mum's pearls on Christmas Eve and she let me keep them for a little while. I wore them with the following outfit on Christmas Day but didn't have a chance to photograph the outfit until I repeated it this week. I figured I should get some photos with the pearls since I needed to return them since she has something to dress up for this weekend. Having the pearls made me think of the above country song from my younger years.
Jacket, Top and Jeans- Ricki's, Boots- Miz Muz, Bag- Michael Kors
The MK bag is mine for just a little while longer before it heads back to the lovely ladies at Bling Borrowers. It's had quite the ride over the holidays traveling to Quebec City and Montreal where I had to protect it from a lot of snow!!

Colour Code
For my American readers, we spell colour with a "u". As the Brits would say "the correct way" but Canadians aren't so pushy like that :) Anyway, I believe I'm a little obsessed with a particular colour right now. I've been wearing so much black and brown and grey this Winter that I think my subconscious was crying out for something to add to the mix. The fashion world is calling it oxblood which- really? Ick. I'll stick with the terms burgundy or maroon but the other day I pulled out some of my most recent acquisitions and got this.
I love it all but do have to remember not to put my new coat on at the same time as I'm wearing my jeans or I'm going to look a little odd!
Speaking of colour I got a new shellac colour on my nails at the end of last week. I had a bit of a pale look over the holidays so was nice to go back to something really dark (but with sparkle!) for the Winter. I also happen to think it goes fabulously with my little colour obsession.
So are you craving a bit of colour this time of year?
