Keep in mind that I have very few vacation days available and Husband will be on a work term placement for his MBA but even still I think he'll be able to take part in more weekend activities than he could at his job last year (when he had a day off about every 12 days and spent half of that day off on the phone!).
1. Go swimming- last summer I failed to go swimming until the very end of August when I went twice, once on an incredibly cold evening!
2. Have bonfires- again last summer we barely used the fire pit until our traditional November 5th Bonfire night festivities.
3. Take Sadie for walks because it's fun- during the miserable weather type months I tend to walk Sadie out of duty at the end of a work day. However, when we have gorgeous weekends and so many fabulous nature parks to explore we ought to actually take her out and enjoy it!
4. Go to at least one roller derby match- how did I miss that all last season?
5. See the summer blockbusters- My family have a bit of a movie theatre addiction and I LOVE summer time because there are always so many movies to choose from. Unlike in early Spring when the options tend to be pretty lame.
6. Sit on the deck- When we first got our house we used to love sitting on the deck drinking tea (or what have you), watching the birds and squirrels and such.... without thinking "I should really go weed that". Need to do more of that.
7. Go to the coast- We live on the Bay of Fundy by the Atlantic Ocean. Think we ought to actually see it some.
8. Saturday mornings at the Farmers Market- Love em (eat too much at them but the food is always sooo good).
9. Enjoy community holiday activities- Husband worked Canada Day and Labour Day and every type of "Day" last summer. This summer we will go watch silly local traditions take place.
10. Leave some unplanned time- I hate feeling I "wasted" a weekend. You know those weekends where you keep saying "we should go do something" but never really do? I think I need to start allowing some weekends where the plan actually is to have no plan and embrace it.

This is a great list! You make an excellent point, leaving some unplanned time is so necessary :)
loved your tuesday at 10 list =) far less shallow than mine.. haha.. seriously great reasons to love and take advantage of summer. I need to take your advice and musings and do the same for my family.
Looks like a good list of goals to me! Love the fire picture too because I love a good campfire! Found you via the GFC hop and happy to be following you via GFC!
I should really add "go to the beach" to my list, since we live only about an hour from the coast and haven't been for more than a year. Eek! Found you from the blog hop and now a follower.
I love your summer list! I found you on the GFC blog hop, and I'm happy to be your newest follower! I'd love for you to check me out at http://www.two-in-diapers.blogspot.com and maybe follow me back! :)
love your list! I'm hosting the Tuesday10 link up starting next week until the end of July and I hope you'll be able to stop by and link up! That is, if you can take a break from your awesome summer :)
great list! I really should make a summer list as well, one of them should be more bon fires! We want to travel to new england to visit my family and they always have the best bon fires. Also I was just telling my husband that we need to get back into the routine of Saturday mornings at the farmers market. We had to skip the past few saturdays because we have been traveling so much
I loved your Tuesday 10 today. Roller derby! That would be intense. I have seen it on a few shows before, but never in person. You'll have to share pictures so I can see how it was. I am your newest follower in ALL capacities. Check out my Tuesday 10 if you get a chance! Amber
New follower...I loved your answers and reminded me that I totally need to make sure that I need to pay attention to time slipping by this summer! :)
